during the month of December, and
that this arrangement if approved of
would be carried out, without expense to
the College. The Senate accepted the proposal
with pleasure, appointed Mr. Bell
Interim Lecturer on Elocution, and agreed to
record their thanks to Mr. Macdonnell
for the trouble he had taken in
the matter.

There was read an Extract from a
letter from Rev. D.J. Macdonnell of Toronto
proposing one or more extra courses
of Lectures in the Theological Department
to be given without expense to the College
during the ensuing session by two or more
Lecturers to be appointed by the Senate. The
Senate approved of the proposal and appointed
the Professors in the Theological Department
to correspond with Mr. Macdonnell
on the subject and report progress.

Mr. Cleland to be
examined for B.A.

The Rev. William Cleland of
Kemptville having applied to be examined
for the degree of B.A. and the
Senate having evidence that he had
gone through a curriculum equivalent
to that prescribed for graduates of this
University, it was agreed to grant his
appication and the following subjects were
prescribed for his examination:

Mechanics (Galbraith & Houghton's)
Whately's Logic - all but first book
McCoshs edition of Stewarts' Moral Philosophy
An oration of Demosthenes or a book of Iliad
English Literature in 16th Century
