The number of students registered in the
different faculties, not counting those in affiliated
institutions, were 567. The number of students in
Theology was forty nine, the largest number ever
registered in that Faculty.

A special meeting of the
Board of Trustees was held on August 28th, when the
question of appointing a successor to Professor Fletcher
was taken up. After consideration of all the applications
it was decided to elect Mr. Terrot Reavely Glover
M.A., Fellow of St. John's College, Cambridge. Notice
of the appointment was cabled to him and he arrived
in Kingston in time for the opening of the
session in October. The resignation of Dr. Bell did
not take effect till the spring, and he continued his
duties as Registrar during this session.

It had been decided by the Board of Trustees
at the last annual meeting to erect a building, which
would serve the double purpose of providing a mechanical
laboratory for the Practical Science students and
a gymnasium. This building had at once been put
in hand under the direction of Professor Dupuis,
whose planning and superivision enabled the University
to dispense with both architect and contractor.
