REPORT
[Any remarks which the Officer Superintending the Depot may have to offer
relating to the Immigrants under his care, to the description of labor
most in request, or any other matter connected with the business of
the Department, should be hereunder concisely made]
(1) Of the twelve married men remaining
one only has a family of children; Six
with one Each, - Consequently it is to be
inferred that they have refused engage
ments, offered them, objecting to the distance
they would be required to travel, - Such
not being reported to me, - It would be
very desirable to formal all such persons
coastwise-to a locality where they might
be requisitive.
(2) Four of the above, might have been
tried, but the advanced preparing of their
words, is an inscapable obotedte to their
excepting any engagement, beyond the Town
my offer to maintain the woman pro term
has in [??] case been refused - & these families
will probably remain some weeks, a burden in
the Establishment; I have always been of
opinion that such cases whould be
considered "ineligible" - For Embankation
(3) Of the four single women left
two are in the Depot Hospital,
2 of the other 2, one is only 15 years of age.
N.B
The Immigration agent should perhaps
be asked to report further on the
[??] of the person remaining
unengaged - and submit, in his
next report a [??] as
to the most suitable Districts to
foward them to, should those
a step be considered advisable
