WGV/CB
Ref. 232 Gen'l.

Deputy Director of Native Affairs,
BRISBANE.

In reply to your enquiry of the 20th instant, (your
reference 1A/230), I wish to advise that the word "Caneebie"
is unknown. However, in the dialect of the coastal tribes,
that is from Nambour to Maryborough, the word "Ganeebie" means
"Throwing a Spear".

The aboriginal word for "Sun", is "Junarn".

Superintendent.
