CHERBOURG
MURGON.
17th August / 50
BAS/JMcL
Ref. 41 Gen'l.
Deputy Director of Native Affairs,
BRISBANE.
For Attention Mr. Maher.
Re Aboriginal Words.
I regret that no one here appears to be able to
give me any information regarding "Moio Munda" or
even to be able to confirm that it is an aboriginal
word.
Aboriginal words for:-
"Beside the Water" and "On a Hill" are
"Gumubah" adn ("and" misspelt) "Mularnee" respectively.
[Signature] (illegible - possibly "A. Brown")
[Initials] (possibly "A.B")
of
Acting Superintendent.

Line 3, "/ 50" could mean the year, 1950, or could mean page 50. "Gen'l" in Line 5 means "general".
