may be rewarded by the acquisition
of considerable wealth. For if from
want of capital, he should be
unable to work the property
himself, he can command a
high price for it from those
who can work it with profit.
Mr. Manton - the gentleman
alluded to above, - has already
sold to above, - has already
sold half his purchase of eighty acres, for the
sum of fifteen thousand pounds.

transmit herewith copies of an
interesting report of experiments
recently conduced at the Sydney
Branch of the Royal Mint, to
determine the strength and
elasticity of the Timber of
New South Wales and Queensland.

2. It is intended that
numerous specimens of the
beautiful and valuable woods
of this Colony shall be
collected and forwarded for
the International Exhibition,
to be held in London in 1862.
