2. As the Speech contains
a list of the principal measures
which will be brought forward
by my Government, and as the
Addresses show the loyalty and
good feeling with which the Council
and Assembly are animated,
I need not trouble your Grace
at present with any comment.

P.S. I may mention that the
Address was voted unanimously
in the Council; and that in the
Assembly an Amendment was
moved in favor of the immediate
introduction of universal
suffrage, which amendment
was rejected by 20 to 3.

My Lord Duke,

With reference to
your Grace's Circular Despatch
of the 1st February, ult., I have
the honor to state that, as
I have already reported in
two previous despatches,
Queensland is prepared to become
a

a Contributor to the Exhibition of
1862, and that energetic measures
have already been taken by the
Government and Legislature to
secure an adequate representation
of this Colony thereat.

2. On reply to the
enquiry contained in the
enclosure to your Grace's Circular,
I beg to recommend that the
Promoters and Proposed Trustees
of the Exhibition should put
themselves in communication
with "The Chairman of the
Exbitition Commission, Brisbane,
Queensland, Australia"

P.S. In my despatch No 13
of 11th March, ult., I reported
that Mefsrs. Marsh M.P., Alfred
Denison
, and Arthur Hodgson
will be the London Commifsioners
representing Queensland at the
Exhibition of 1862.
