Summary: Pensioner was James’s Daughter, Laura Lucas, who lived in Harrison County, Kentucky, at the time of filing. James served in the 117th USCI, Co. H. Died in Texas, during February of 1866 from Chronic Diarrhea. Laura’s mother was Eliza Jane Smith, who died before the time of this claim. Her guardian was: Polly Garnett. Affidavit on page 10 for John H. Louise. Affidavit of Elijah Kirtley and Henry Combs on page 16-17.
