of the nature, appearance etc
of the true White fish "Coregonus
Alba" of our Eastern inland
fresh water seas. -- There is a
description of White fish found
in some of the rivers in the Maritime
Provinces, they do not fully resemble
our Ontario, Erie, and Huron
Lake White fish. -- I mention
this as I was told some years
ago that, White fish new to be
bred in the Upper waters of the
Restigouche River by some of the
Mowat family, and I made
an inspection, catching a few
but found they were not at all
up to the standard of the true
White fish of our Great Lakes.
I hope however that Mr Mowat
may be right in his statement
concerning the B.C. Whitefish.

I shall await your
instructions in regard to shipping
Eggs to B.C. as proposed. --
It will be necessary for me
to order a few thousand more
of the glass incubators, for he
has to [rely?] had enough to
carry on our own increasing
business in White fish hatching
