I may here state that, Mr Mowat wrote
me a short time ago, thus “I made

“your large interior Lakes. I have
“Eaten the White-fish, and find
“them quite as good as the Eastern
“White-fish, and I am satisfied
“there will be an important trade
“in them in a few years.”

This is an important
discovery if found to be correct,
and I do not see why it may
not be probable that, if Lakes of
any magnitude are found in
B.C., why White-fish may not
inhabit them: - I cannot say
however that, Mr Mowat may
be fully up to the knowledge

of obtaining Spec Trout ova
for another year, I beg to
enquire what probable quantity
could be obtained if you should
set about the work in earnest
and as the time to carry out
the work – I am aware that

use of for getting these fish

that large quantities could
but be taken there if means
were adapted to catch them.

river was utilised last year –
whether it was kept as a closed
stream or whether it was fished
to death by Anglers as would be
