I am asked to report
upon the advisability of securing
necessary accommodation for
supplying Pickerel, or Doré Eggs
for the uses of the Sandwich Hatchery,
upon the application made to your
Dept by Mr Parker who sets forth
the importance of having reliable
means instituted, by which these
Eggs can be satisfactorily, and
economically obtained.

I beg to state for your
information that I have had many
conversations as well as a good deal
of correspondence with Mr Parker
and the former officer in charge
of the Sandwich Hatchery, in all
of which but the one conclusion
has been come to, namely that,
some permanent arrangement
should be made with some [reliable?]
fishermen, in a locality where these
fish could be readily, and reliably
secured at the proper time; and […]
