Referring to the subject of obtaining supplies for Spe. Trout / Ova for the coming [?] operation, I have to state that, the [?] for felling [?] [?] [? indications are not encouraging. Previously mentioned in my letter of your Dept of 20th [?], I took [?] to achieve after seccuring[?] your [?] to "obtain three or four salmon of ova" by writing to Mr Alex[?] at [?] Restigouche Hatchery to Satellier of the Tadoussac Hatchery; and to McPhos Mowat of the [?] River B.C. hatchery; directing [?] making possible arrangement obtaining these Eggs:-- from [?] Mowat[?] [?] Setellier. I have received information that little if any [?] can be placed upon their [?] any:-- from [?] Mowat of B.C. [?] Dept is aware of the positive matters there.-- Tho only other chance now [?] the one [?] [?] to me.

Dear Sir Yours [?] [?] with a/c JS Davis which is sent on to Ottawa. Your former a/c here duly [?] on and should have been [?] [?] earlier than stated.

I cannot see any necessity of Davis going up river to see how many fish are in the pools, it will cause expense for nothing, and the Dept will object. If he went up to gather parent fish for eggs it would be different but [?] to see fish a pool is of no use to any one. It is to be expected that salmon were not more plentiful the past season _ must look forward for an increase in future but I fear the netting is so great that a large increase cannot be well expected. Keep your parent fish healthy and carry out my former instructions where you [?] and have them out. Your [obedient] [servant] Supt
