Orders for Chief and other Petty Officers

The Chief Gunners Mate and the Gunners
Mate are to take turns in stopping on board
at night except on Saturdays Sundays and
General Holidays to superintend the cleaning
in connection with the Guns and the issue of any
stores, Gunners, that may be required.

When there is a class of Naval Reserve men
under instruction ans either or both are ins
tructing, they are not to be required to turn
out in the morning to superintend the clean
ing of the Gun gear ec. but they are to take
their turn in stopping on board in case their
services are required.

The Signalman is to be instructed in the
use of the electric light and also how to
flash with it.

The Signalman is to Muster and be res
ponsible for the Signal Books issued.

The title of Engine Room Artificer is to be
altered to Engineer Artificer.

Weather permitting the night signalling instruction
(especially the Morse Code) is to be regularly carried
out on Friday Evenings.
