They are in harbour to consider them
selves in charge of the deck as Officers of
the watch and not to allow any irregular
ities, or disobedience of the orders of the ships.

They are to keep their watch strictly
and not to leave the upper deck except
to make reports, to the Captain executive
Officer, to go the rounds at night time and
trim the lamps.

They are at all times day and night to
pay particular attention to the safety of
the ship.

If at Single anchor that she
is riding secure to her anchor.

If moored
that the Hawse is if possible kept clear
with the Helm.
If secured to a Buoy that the Buoy is
kept clear of the Bows.
At night he is to
call the Commanding Officer if he has
the slightest suspicion that the ship
is not in every way all right.
That the Anchor
Buoy if one, is watching and does not re
quire bleeding.
That the Anchor light burns
brightly, trimming it as requisite.
