46 [top left of page] The Discipline By [turn?] of leave is to be understood each time that a man is deprived of the indul gence which he would have been allowed had he not been under stoppage.

After 24 hours of a man absent without leave the Master at arms is to go on shore and if possible ascertain the mans whereabouts and bring him on board calling in the assist ance of the police if necessary.

After 48 hours Absence a warrant will be issued for the mans arrest and One pound reward will be given.

When any expenses have been incurred in connection with the leave breaking which the Offender has been ordered to refund it is to be entered in the Defaulters Book as part of his punishment.

In lieu of No 10. Admiralty Punishment. a fine will be inflicted of one Shilling for each day. Viz. For an Offence which would be punishable by seven days No 10 a fine of seven Shillings will be inflicted.

Gambling is strictly prohibited. Card playing of all kinds will be stopped if accompanied by gambling. Any firearms brought on board without permission will be confiscated.

47 [top right of page] The Discipline Men of the Naval Force are not to take orders direct from the Officers of the Military Force.

Such orders must pass through the Naval Officer in command of them.

Men of the Permanent Naval Force are warned that it is their imperative duty to remain per fectly neutral in the matter of strikes.

If proved to have acted otherwise they will be severely punished.

No man who is in the report of committing an offence is entitled to go on shore but in cases where the offence committed is trifling the ex ecutive officer is to use his discretion as to granting leave.
