WARD 2.-Commencing at the Northeast corner Main and Washington streets Eastwards to limits. From Main and Washington Northward to City Limits.

WARD 3.-Commenging Southwest corner Main and Washington streets and following Washington street West to limits, and Main street South to Main street bridge.

WARD 4.-Commencing Southeast corner Main and Washington streets, and following Washington street East to City limits and Main street South to Main street bridge.

WARD 5.-Commencing at Main street bridge, running Southwest to fork of Augusta and Pendleton streets, thence along Pendleton street to Green Ave; thence along Green Ave. to City limits. Reedy River the Northwest boundary to City limits.

AN ORDINANCE Prohibiting the Practive of Lewdness or Prostitution.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Greenville in Council assembled, and by authority of the same: Section 1. That from and after the passage of this Ordincance it shall be unlawful for any occupant or owner of any house of room, or part of the same, within the limitys of the City of Greenville, to practice lewdness or prostitution therin, or to allow males and females to co-habit therein without first having been lawfully married to each other, or to permit persons to resort to said house, room or part thereof for the purpose of prostitution and lewdness. Section 2. That any person or persons violating this Ordinance shall upon trial and conviction therefor, be fined by the Mayor of acting Mayor not more than fifty dollars or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or either or both, at the discretion of the Mayor or acting Mayor. [article 1, column 1 left side of page] AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUE OF BONDS.

Whereas, on the 1st day of July, 1901, five thousand dollars of the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railway bonds issued by this city fell due and the same has not been paid and it is desireable that refunding coupon bonds for the payment of same be issued.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen in Council assembled and by the authority of the same:

That the issue of five thousand dollars refunding coupon bonds be and is hereby authorized to be made, the same to be the refunding of that amount of the Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line Railway bonds due July 1st, 1901, and not yet paid, said bonds to be of the denomination of five hundred dollars each, due twenty years from the 1st of January, 1903, at the rate of 5 per cent interest per annum, payable semi-annually on the first days of January and July of each year in Greenville or New York at the option of the holder.

That the Clerk and Treasurer advertise for sealed bids for the purchase of same, up to the 6th day of December, 1902, and that a certified check be required with each bid to the amount of five per cent of same, and that the right to reject any or all bids be reserved.

NOTICE.

Until the 16th day of December, 1902, at the office of the City Clerk and Treasurer of the City of Greenville, S. C., sealed bids will be received for the purchase of five thousand dollars of coupon bonds to be issued by the City Council of Greenville for the purpose of refunding the above amount of Atlanta and Charlotte Air Line. Railway bonds due July 1st, 1901.

Said bonds to bear date January 1, 1903, and to be made payable twenty years from date of the same, interest at the rate of five per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the 1st days of January and July of each year in Greenville, S. C., or New York, at the option of the holder said bonds to be of the denomination of five hundred dollars each.

The right to reject any and all bids is hereby reserved.

With each bid must be a certifies check for five per cent of the amount of each bid. W. B. McDANIEL., Clerk and Treasurer.

[article 2, column 2 right side of page] AN ORDINANCE - TO REGULATE THE CARRYING, Manufacturing, Sale and Use of Pistols in the City of Greenville. Be it ordained by the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Greenville, in Council assembled, and by the authority of the same; That from and after the passage of this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to carry about his or her person, whether concealed or not, any pistol less than twenty inches in length and three pounds in weight; and it shall also be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to manufacture, sell, lease, rent or otherwise dispose of, or offer for sale, lease, rent or other like use, or transport for such sale or use into this City, any pistol of less length and weight.

PROVIDED the provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to peace officers in the discharge of their duty, or to the carrying of pistols by persons on their own premises.

Any person, firm or corporation, violating any of the provisions of this ordinance, upon conviction, shall be fined by the Mayor, or acting Mayor, not more than Fifty Dollars, or imprisoned, not more than thirty days, or both fined and imprisoned within the above limits in the discretion of the said Mayor or acting Mayor. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

[article 1, column 1 left side of page] An Ordinance to Prevent the Hitching and Standing of Animals in, and Vehicles of Certain Public Places in the City of Greenville.

Be it ordained by the mayor and city council of the city of Greenville, in council assembled, and by authority of the same:

That from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person driving, managing, controlling or directing any vehicle, to allow the same to stand or remain in any of the parks, public places or reservations of the city, including the streets and open spaces at the intersection of Main and Court streets; or for a person driving, managing, controlling or directing any horse, mule or other animal to hitch, or allow to be hitched, or allow the same to stand or remain in said parks, places or reservations, or to hitch, or allow to be hitched the same to the buildings known as the county court house or record building; provided, that this shall not apply to the temporary stoppage of vehicles and animals to allow person riding or driving to get on and off.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance upon conviction shall be fined by the mayor or acting mayor not more than $20, or imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both fined and imprisoned within the above limits. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are repealed.

AN ORDINANCE TO PREVENT THE Manufacture and burning of Brick or Clay Products within the City of Greenville.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Greenville, in Council assembled, and by authority of the same: That from and after the passage of this ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to manufacture, engage in the work thereof, or permit to be manufactured, or to make excavation for material for brick, terra cotta, or such like products of clay or earth; or to burn, engage in the work thereof, or permit to be burned, the same, within the incorporate limits of the City of Greenville.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance upon conviction shall be fined not more than Ffty Dollars, or imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both fined and imprisoned within the above limits. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsitent herewith are repealed.

Ratified and done in Council assembled this the fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four. G. H. MAHON, Mayor. W. B. McDANIEL, City Clerk.

[article 3, column 2 right side of page] AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE MANAGEMENT AND SPEED OF AUTOMOBILES INTHE CITY OF GREENVILLE.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Greenville, in Council assembled, and by authority of the same: That from and after the passage of this ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person driving, controlling or directing any automobiles, motor-car, or other power-propelled vehivle, to permit or allow the same to be driven or run through any of the streets of said City at a greater speed than six miles per hour; or to permit, or allow any such vehicle as aforesaid, to be driven or run by or near any horse, mule or other animal, so as to frighten the same, when a signal has been given to stop, or it reasonably appears that such animal is frightenedd or is likely to become unmanageable.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance upon conviction shall be fined not more than fifty dollars, or imprisoned not more than thirt days, or both fined and imprisoned within the above limits. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are repealed.
