WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.

AN ORDINANCE to Regulate Weights and Measures in
Use in the City of Greenville.

SEC. 1. That no merchant, butcher, or other person
doing business in said city shall adopt or use in his said
business any other than accurate standard weights and
measures.
SEC. 2. That any person violating this ordinance shall,
upon conviction of such violation, be punishable by a
fine not exceeding ten dollars or imprisonment not ex-
ceeding fifteen days.
SEC. 3. That the Chief of Police be, and he is hereby,
required to inspect as often as he or the Mayor may deem
necessary all weights and measures in use by merchants,
butchers and all other persons doing business in said
city, and report all violations of Section 1 of this ordi-
nance to the Mayor.
