Done and ratified in Council assembled, this third day
[L.S.] of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-one.

AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE AND TO PROVIDE THE
MEANS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, CONSTRUCTION AND
MAINTENANCE OF A SYSTEM OF SEWERAGE FOR THE
CITY OF GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE ISSUING OF SEWERAGE BONDS IN AN
AMOUNTY NOT EXCEEDING SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS FOR THE SAME.

SESTION 1. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Alderman of
the City of Greenville, in Council assembled, and by au-
thority of the same, That the Mayor of the said City is
hereby authorized to issue coupon bonds of the City of
Greenville in the sum of seventy-five thousand dollars
for establishing, construction and maintaining a system
of seweage for the said City of Greenville, as provided
for by the Act of the General Assembly, ratified on the
22nd day of December, 1891, said system to becon-
structed as Council may authorize and direct.

Sec. 2. That the bonds authorized by this ordinance shall
be exempt from all taxation by the said City, and shall
be payable thirty years from the date of said issue.

Sec. 3. That said bonds shall be of the denomination as
follows: Five hundred dollars, and signed by the Mayor
and Clerk and Treasurer of said City and sealed with the
seal of the Council. The interest on the same to be six
per centum per annum and shall be paid semi-annually.
on the first day of January and the first day of July in
New Yoirk of the City of Greenville, at the option of the
holders of the bonds, and the coupons shall be receiva-
ble at par for taxes and all other dues to the City of
Greenville, and shall be so expressed on their face.
