Phillis Wheatley Center has made marvelous contribution to this section of the state. Boys and girls NOW grown to manhood and womanhood hold responsible positions over the country. Much is being done NOW! NOW little black and brown hands are pleading for a chance NOW! NOW! NOW!
NOW we are very grateful to God for a vision and help in many marvelous ways to realize the accomplishment of part of this vision. We are Now thankful for sympathetic friends, churches, and other organisations who have stood by so faithfully in the past years and who labor with us Now. We only ask Now for more friends and more giving. Why not make this institution debt free Now. "IT CAN BE DONE".
SOME ACHIEVEMENTS $20,000 debt reduced to $5,000. A few activities of past year: 756 meetings of clubs, classes and committees. 20,568 in attendance. 61,437 on playground and in auditorium. Employment 528 persons applied for work. 337 placed.
Material relief: 81 families good; 27 families fuel; 1,097 garments given; 74 pairs shoes given; 10 persons sent to hospital; 4 persons given a night's lodging each; 3 persons given railroad fare to homes; 202 toys reconditioned and distributed.

Child Welfare: 6 girls to orphan home, 1 boy in foster home, 1 girl to N.Y.A. Camp, 3 boys and 3 girls to trade schools and colleges.
Kitchen: 6,059 meals prepared and served, 208 children given soup.
Sewing Room: 226 garments made. Assisting with 2 nursery schools which are meeting quite a long felt need of our people.
Library: The Phillis Wheatley Branch Library is a very valuable community asset. We have books on almost any subject you can mention. The circulation for both city and county is 9,240 books.
USE of Center by churches, schools, county teacher association, social clubs, world war veterans, pre-school children, N.Y.A. girls.
