FOR
WHITE HORSE
DISTRICTS

"X" marks the spot of another industry to be located in the Piedmont and Northern's new White Horse Industrial District just south of Greenville, S. C.
J. A. Piper Roofing Company, a long-established roofing firm in Greenville, has purchased a 2.6-acresite of Commerce Road, one of the streets of the district, and well soon begin the erection of a 14, 000 square-foot office and warehouse to house its operations. When the new building is completed the company will move from its present quarters at 119 W. Court St., near downtown Greenville, where it has been located since 1919. Construction is expected to be completed in about five months. In addition to the concrete warehouse and office area, there will be a large fenced-in outdoor storage yard for roofing materials. A 420-foot railroad siding will serve the new facility.
The White Horse Industrial District, newest of the P & N's planned industrial areas, contains approximately 150 acres of building sites, 70 of which have already been graded and fully developed with streets and utility services. One 150,000-square-foot warehouse - Commodity Warehouse Corporation - has already been completed in the district. It is located at left center of the photograph.
The P & N is now in the process of publishing a folder which will contain a complete description, photographs, and a map of the district. It will be availabe early next month to companies to companies interested in locating at White Horse, one of the most accessible and desirable industrial districts in South Carolina.
