Mr. Ross is coaching the "B"
team which is having an excellent
season.
The girls' team, under the
coaching of Mrs. Cash, got off
to a slow start but are showing
improvement.
Last but far from least comes
the boys "A" team. These boys
are the pride and joy of Taylors.
The boys nine wins and three
looses so far is a fine record.
The boys are expected to continue
to make the students proud of
them before the season closes.
Patsy Jones was named Miss
Merry Christmas of Taylors High
for 1956. She rode in the Greer
Christmas Parade along with
Little Miss Merry Christmas,
Susie Miller.
Several amendments have been
added to the constitiution this
year.
But that's enough for the past.
Let's take a look and see what
lies in the future.
There will be the Junior Senior
Banquet; a big event in every
junior and senior's eyes. Then
there is the trip to Washington
for the seniors. This is always
a high light in any seniors life.
Then comes graduation, a sad
but rejoicive time. The seniors
will step out of the way making
will step out of the way making
room for the juniors to move up
in their place. The seniors will
go their separate ways, each to
make something of his or her
life.
The students of Taylors have
something to feel proud of, and
something to look forward to.
Let us resolve now to make the
second semester as good and
better than the first one. Let us
wish to all the seniors lots of
luck in what ever they do.
[Column 2]
DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE
AT FIRST SIGHT?
During the weeks before and
after examinations, there has
been a poll conducted at
Taylors High by the roving reportor
of The Eagle[underlined]. She found
herself placed in some very
embarasing and funny situations at
times (so she says) but had a
good time doing it. She asked
teachers and students the question,
"Do you believe in love at
first sight?" Some of the
answers she got were really very
interesting Here are a few of
them:
Miss Wood[underlined] says that she
believes in physical attraction
but does not believe that one
love at first sight because
love is made up of understanding
and personality and you
don't know what the person is
at first sight.
Miss Greer[underlined] agrees with Miss
Wood.
Mr. Odon[underlined] thinks that you can
adore a person enough at first
sight to marry them and love
grows out of the marriage.
Miss Nicholson[underlined] believed that
love at first sight can happen
sometimes, but only to mature
persons. She thinks that it's
actually an infatuation which
turns into love.
Walter White[underlined] believed that it
can happen every once in a
while because he thinks that
some people's emotions are just
that strong.
Betty Boling[underlined] thinks that love
has to grow through understanding.
Miss Raines[underline] thinks that what
we call love at first sight is
something that has to grow.
