SENIOR NEWS[Underlined]
THE SENIOR CLASS had a party at
Carolyn Downey's building on
Februart 19, 1957. Everyone had
a very good time learning how to
dance. Some of those doing some
fancy dancing were Ted Brown,
Larry Hawkins, Bobby G. Jones,
Joel Greene, Charles Loftis, and
Willie Cannada. They were real
"gone!" Some of the others on the
dance floor were Tom Jones, Dicky
Bannister, Micky Strickland, Bill
Coker, Wendell Jones, James Ward,
Lynn Chandler, Richard Trott,
Jimmy Wilson, Joe Henson, Bud
Hudson, Lewis Bennett, and Carroll
Ward.
Along with the boys dancing
were the girls Rosemary Cunningham,
Gail Moss, Carolyn Downey,
Peggy Jones, Carolyn Butler,
Ruth Boling, Polly McAdams, Faye
Brown, Nettie Parker, and Miss
Wood.
ASL[smudged?] THE SENIORS are looking
forward to the approaching trip to
Washington. That is the explanation
why the seniors are saving
every possible penny they can get
their hands on. Everyone can help
by attending the dances and buying
vanilla flavoring.
THE SENIORS TOOK placement tests
on Tuesday and Wednesday of this
week. Everyone is glad they are
over.

ECONOMIC'S CLASS GIVES TEA[Underlined]
The fifth period Home Economic's
Class gave an informal tea for
the teachers Tuesday, March 5.
The refreshments, made entirely
by the students, included punch,
butterfinger cookies, and squares
of cake decorated with red, white,
and green icing.
The girls received valuable
experience from the Tea, annd
teachers enjoyed it immensly.

SOCIAL SCIENCE CLASS TRAVELS[Underlined]
The sixth period Social Science
class took a trip to Greenville,
Tuesday, March 12. The first
place to visit was the Court
House. There they met Mr. L. Ask
Jones, who showed them around.
He showed them the court room,
and then Sheriff Martin showed
them were they kept fire arms
etc.
They they returned to the
court room to observe a trial
which concerned the murder of
Mr. Cleveland by Mr. Ostein.
The trial had already been in
progress a day and continued a
day following their visit.
After lunch they met at Calhoun
Towers and from there went to the
Navel and Marino Training Center
where they were shown around the
building.
Next they went to Bob Jones
Art Gallery and saw some interesting
paintings of all varieties.
Those going on the trip were
Miss Wood, Mrs. Metz, James Ware,
Ted Brown, Tom Jones, Dickie
Bannister, Lew Ayers, Henry Vaughn,
Bud Hudson, Truman Chandler[Chandler],
Lamar Brazeale, Malcolm Hughes,
Lewis Bennett, Lynn Bishop,
Kenneth Howell, and Fay Brown.
They all enjoyed the trip very
much.
