"BOOTS' CORNER
by Betty Boling

Hi Students!

I'm glad I could talk to you
once more about the local news.

Everyone enjoyed the dance
sponsored by the senior class
at the curb market. We did
several kinds of dance, shag, and
slow dance.

There were several interesting
basketball games between the
different grades. Everyone
enjoyed them very much.
Congradualtion to the 11th grade girls
and the 12th grade boys for
winning the championship.

We have a new student. Her
name is Peggy Cato. Peggy is
in the 10th grade and has been
married since February 15. Best
of luck PEggy, and welcome to
Taylros High!

Several members of the student
council went to Pickens High
School on Wednesday, March 14,
and attened some very
educational discussions concerning
improvement of the Student
Council.

The J.H.A. girls went to
Anderson for a disctrict meeting
on March 16 and had a wonderful
time. Etheline Alewine
modeled a beautiful dress and
looked very pretty.

We are proud of Tom James for
being elected to the office of
State Treasurer.

Well, that's about all the
news. See you next issue!

"SIMPLE" QUESTION ASKED TEENS[Underlined]

For the past several weeks, a
busy little roving reporter
(considered a busy-body by some)
has been industriously rushing
up to people and almosy knocking
them down by asking the
question, "Do you believe in
esculation as a volutuous past-time
before marriage?" This
reporter says that some of the
teens teeth literally fell out.
One girl (Sandra Sammons) said
with a devilish look in her

eyes, No, I think a boy
should marry a girl, a couple,
anyway, and two mother-in-laws,
and they shouldn't drink like
what you said." Jim T.[underlined] said, I'll
say. Jerry J. [Underlined] - "Definitely"
Ethelene[Underlined] - "W-e-l-l, give me a
hint!" (She looked sort of suspicious) "Cat" A.[underlined] "I'm not
going to say." Mr. Forrester[Underlined] (He
nearly died laughing - a nervous
laugh at that.) "I believe in
the first part, but what does
that second big word mean?"
Sheila K. [Underlined] - (After much consideration)
"Yeah." Bob W. [Underlined] - change the
subject. Charles M. [Underlined] - m-m-m-m
(wonder what that means Charles
m-m-m?) Miss Raines[Underlined] - "If it's
what I'm thinking about, I'd
better not say." Ruth B.[Underlined] "What?
I don't know what you are talking
about." Helen W. [Underlined] - "You'd better
go ask Mr. Henderson. I
don 't know." Miss Lindsey[Underlined] - (She
went into spasms of laughter:
tears actually rolled down her
cheaks.) "What did you say?"
Marion H.[Underlined] - "Why don't you say
it in plan English?" Mr. Henderson [underlined]
- "No, I did twenty
years ago." Mrs. Long[Underlined] - "Definitely
no."

Oh! by the way the question
translated it "Do you believe in
kissing as a pleasurable
past-time?" Look at the red faces!

as nice as a cheerful word
