Dear Sir:

Referring to your letter of August 7th to General Manager Hitchcock in regard to sample of stone from various sections of the United States.

I am shipping to you by freight sample of stone secured from the ruins of the Pecos Pueblo, near Rowe, New Mexico.

I am quoting below description of the Pueblo.

"Pueblo built about the beginning of the Christian era. First described by Coronado expedition, A. D. 1540, abandoned by Indians as residence in 1838, Mission built 1598 to 1608 in the Pueblo Indian revolt and the resident Padre Friar Fernando De Valesco was killed. Excavation and restoration by the Department of Archaeology, Philips Andover Academy."
