"The Last Supper," Leonardo Da Vinci.
We have a small piece of the church of Maria delle Grazie, Milan, Italy, where Leonardo da Vinci painted his great picture, "The Last Supper." The picture is painted on the wall of the refectory. Napoleon used the room as a guard room during an Italian campaign and his soldiers out a door xxx through the wall which amrred the lower part of the picture but which fortunately did not touch the figured. Thus war destroys beauty as well as thruth and goodness.
Leonardo da Vinci was one of the most remarkable men of history. He was an a tist of rare ability. Mona Lisa is one of the most famous portraits in existence. Yet painting was a side issue with Leonardo. He was primarily an engineer and scientists and even outlined an idea of the airplane.
