To the 5th Intry he saith that he knows nothing to
that effect David Merideth

Examination of David Meredith - witness in the
part of John Cost in the above stated cause who
personally known to me was between the hours 9 A.M.
and 12 A M on the 22nd day of June 1854
at the residence of David Merideth in the
County of Shelby - and state of Alabama
called before the undersigned Commissioner
and after being sworn to speak the truth the
whole truth and nothing but the truth did depose
and testify as above shown and stated - which was
takn down reduced to writing and signed by
said witness in my presence. All which I
certify under my hand this 22nd day of June
