Shelby County For and in condid
[torn ] of the Sum of one hundred
dollars to us in hand paid by Mary Johnston
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged
We Joseph Roper and Mary P Roper and
John M McClanahan and E A M Mclanahan
have given granted bargained and sold &
by these Presents do give grant bargain
& sell to said [illegible strikethrough] Mary Johnston the NW 1/4
of the NE 1/4 of Luton 27 Township 21
Range. 1 West to have and to hold the
same to said Mary Johnson and her
he[irs] for ever and we do Comment to
[torn] W[torn] and Mary Johnson that
[torn] are arranged in full to said land &
that we will form a warrent and
defend title in full to said Mary Johnson
& her heirs forever In witness of which
witness our hands and seals this 12
day of July 1854
