{Bettie Francis} Shelby County, } Special Term, Sept 6th 1897

In the matter of the Appointment of a Guardian of the
{Order apptg Guard} person and Estate of Bettie Francis Edmondson, a Minor

On this day comes J.D. Chastine and presents to the
Court his petition, in writing, under oath, praying that
John W Bolin may be appointed Guardian of the
person and Estate of Bettoe Francis Edmondson, a
minor; and it appearing to the Court, from the allegations
contained in said petition, that the said Bettie Francis
Edmondson, minor, as represented is a resident of this
County and possessed in her own right of an estate in this State
which estate is estimated to be worth about Twenty five
hundred and 00/100 dollars, and has no father living, or other
legal guardian in this State, and it further appearing
that the said John W. Bolin is the friend of the said minor,
and a fit person to have the management of said minors'
estate; It is therefore ordered that the said petition be
granted, provided the said John W Bolin first file in this
Court his bond as such Guardian, in the penal sum of
Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars, conditioned and payable as
required by law, and with such security or securities as
shall be approved by the Court. And now again
comes John W. Bolin and presents to the Court his bond, in form as required by law,
with John F. Pope, James L. Ray John H Weldon Amos Daniel Mattie H
Fowler and Jesse W. Taylor as securities thereon; and the Court being
now sufficiently advised concerning said security, it is
ordered that the said bond be taken, approved and recorded. It is
thereupon ordered that Letters of Guardianship of the Estate
of the said Bettie Francis Edmondson, minor, be granted to the
said John W Bolin and that he be and hereby is authorized
to have the custody of said Estate and the person of the said
Bettie Francis Edmondson; and it is further ordered
that the said petition be recorded; and it is further
ordered that the said John W Bolin make due return,
under oath, of all the estate, real and personal, of the said
Bettie Francis Edmondson, within 3 months after
from the date of this order.
