I trust have merit with mankind for his Zeal and
exertions, in the cause of learning Science, liberty and Virtue.
He departed this life on the 28th of March at half after
one o'clock surrounded by kind friends without a struggle
after a long and distressing illness, during which he never
repined, or uttered a word of complaint, but bore it
with patience unto the End!--
I will not pretend to say he had no faults for
who is perfect? but I throw a Veil over them, as
his virtues by far counterbalanced them--
It is customary to say on such occasions "God rest
his Soul" but I say may his spirit be soaring
aloft--enjoying perfect bliss in seeing and compre-
hending the magnificent and stupendous works of the
Almighty in the many" Mansions" designed for those
who love the Lord!--And where the joys are such
as "Eye hath not seen, nor Ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of Man, the things which God
hath prepared for them that love him."
