Rt. Rev. & Dear Sir,

I regret that I cannot avail myself of your kind invitation to be present at so interesting a ceremony as that of laying the Corner Stone of the University of the South.

Having been compelled to be absent from my Parish during the Summer to visit the Hot Springs Ark. for my health I am loth now to shut up the Church again though it be for two Sundays.
