Dear Sir

Owing to several days absence
from home your invitation to be present
to witness the laying the corner stone of
the principal building of the "University of
the South
" was not received till last
evening. I hasten to say that, I
will endeavor to be with you on
the interesting occasion though I
fear that I may not be able to
do so
