I. mother kept boarders-most of which were
relatives. The boarders got fed first & then the
woman & children are whatevers was left...many
times just gravy & bread.
II. yards were gardens, not grass. The coops
Around the rear of the houses were functional
keeping geese, chickens, rabbits, pigs, cows, etc.,
these livestock were used for food & helped to
suppliment (supplement) the families food supply. (It may be
a good idea to rebuild some of those coops &
stock them with Animals for the "model homes).
