Dear Sir

A short absence
from home, has delayed the "early an-
=swer" requested, to the invitation
from the Executive Committee to be
present at the laying of the Corner
Stone of the University.

I have long hoped to be present
on that occasion, but I fear that
circumstances will prevent the con-
=summation of this much-cherished
desire, and, am reluctantly constrained
to say that I need not be expected.

And yet my heart burns withing me
when I think of the glorious day,
and I will add, that if any unfore-
=seen change of circumstances
