On motion of Bp. Elliott, it was Resolved, That the Rt. Rev. Bp. Otey be requested to write to Dr. [Jelf?], President of King's College, for any publications connected with the foundation & organization of said College; & to Mr. Dallas for publications connected with the University of London, & any other Institutions of Learning in the United Kingdom which may be of service to the Committee on the Constitution.

On motion of Bp. Polk, it was Resolved, That the Engineer of the University be instructed to build four additional cab rooms for the use of the Executive Committee ^Board of Trustees, & to procure furiture sufficient to furnish eight rooms.

legal position of the Title of the Shapard Tract; & if satisfied that the Title of said Shapard Tract is not good to the whole of said Tract, then to compromise & purchase, if possible, whatever Title he has, & take such steps as may be requisite to obtain Title from the parties in whom the Title legally is. But if they are satisfied said Shapard holds the legal Title, that then they be authorized to purchase said Shapard Tract from him.

On motion of Bp. Elliott, it was Resolved, That Rt. Rev. Bp. Polk & Mr. J. M. Bass be authorized to make arrangements to settle the titles to all the lands granted to the University by the Sewanee Mining Company, & other parties; & also to make any arrangements

On the motion of Bp. Elliott, it was Resolved, That the Commissioners be instructed to pay to Col. Barney, as soon as they are in funds, such sums as he may need in liquidation of his account in carrying out the instructions of the Committee.

New Orleans, La. February 13th, 1860.

At the call of the chairman, the Rt. Rev. Bishop Othey, the following members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of the South, assemble; viz. The Bishops of Tennessee, Louisiana, & of Georgia, Rev. Dr. Pise & Geo. R. Fairbanks, Esqr.

On motion of Bp. Elliot, it was Resolved, That the Commissioners be authorized to ^pay to Dr. Pise the expenses connected with the printing ordered by this meeting of the Board of Trustees, & also to pay such expenses as he himself may have incurred in attending this meeting.

On motion of Mr. Fairbanks it was Resolved, That the Commissioners be authorized to pay the expenses incurred under the Resolutions heretofor passed by this Committee in regerence to Surveys, Landscape-Gardener, building cabins, &c &c; and also to pay such current expenses as may be necessary.

On motion of the Secretary, it was Resolved, That Geo. R. Fairbanks be authorized to occupy a portion of the University Cabins during such part of the ensuing Summers as he may desire, without prejudice to the occupation of the same for the meeting of the Trustees.
