Dear Mrs. Dula:

Your leetter of inquiry about Bishop William
Mercer Green, addressed to Sewanee has been described to me
as the great grandson who could answer you questions.

My wife and I are presently occupid in pre-
paring a biography of William Mercer Green (1798-1887). Our
research took us to North Carolina many times. The best data
can be found in the North Carolina Room and in the Southern
Historical Collection in the University Library at Chapel Hill. S
Do you already know the following:

Cheshire, Joseph Blount: An Historical Address Delivered in
St. Matthew's Church, Hillsboro, N. C.
on Sunday, August 24, 1924 being the
one hundredth anniversary of the Parish.
Presses of Christian & King Printing Co. Durham, N. C. 1925.

I am enclosing a chronology of Bp. Green's life
and shall be glad to answer any questions not supplied by the
Library. You will notice that, although he had requested and had
been granted burial in St. Matthew's churchyard, only his first
wife and children were buried there. He was burried in Greenwood
Cemetery, Jackson, Miss. where we have visited the grave.

Thank you for you interest.

Very truly,

Armand J. de Rosset
