My Dearest Alan No word from you yet darling. I hope you are over the worst by now. I miss you ever so much, and am praying you won't have to go back, I keep telling myself you won't and am almost convinced by now.
I stayed at your place for tea on Sunday night, Hazel and Fred drove me home after. Everything was alright darling.
It is hard settling down to work again after the lovely month I have spent with you. To-day it didn't seem quite so bad, but yesterday was terrible. I leave here on the 6:15 a.m bus to start work at 8 o'clock but next week I won't have to do that as I am going to start 1/4 of an hour late and work in my lunch hour. I hope you are well by the week-end, I get Saturday and Sunday for Easter, better than nothing. The moon is lovely to-night, just one big orange ball, and they are singing on the wireless 'Wanting You', believe me I do.
Well my darling I will close now as I

Thursday
My Dearest Alan, I received your letter last night thanks for writing honey.
I have written two letters before this one, but have lost them. The envelopes were sealed & addressed and one was stamped so you might receive them, heres hoping.
The job is going alright, next week I am starting at 8.15 so will be able to catch a bus at 7.15 am instead of 8.15, an extra hour in bed. I think I have strained my eyes, they are blood-shot and smarting. I work on figures all day so I guess it is the cause. If they are no better to-morrow I will go over to medical.
Yes daring I will be out on Saturday afternoon I guess I had better hurry, what with an A.W.A.S. visiting you every night. You had better warn her about me, she is trespassing. Does she belong to the cheer up society, visiting all the men in hospital, anyway it is nice to think somebody can go and see you, because I can't. I am too afraid to come out at night, on Saturday I can see what the place is like and if I think it is alright I will come out next week.

It is great to think you will be here another month, I hope the Convelescent Camp is near Brisbane, so I can see a lot of you.
The nights are lovely now darling, the water looks lovely when I am going to bed. I think of you every night.
Do you think you will be staying in Brisbane Alan, I hope so. I have almost convinced myself now you won't be going back.
Every day I meet somebody here I know, I didn't realise I knew so many girls around Brisbane.
Well darling I will close now. What time can I see you. Better still I will wire you to-morrow what time I will be out and if possible you can have some-body meet me.
All my love darling, Yours forever, Nancy XXXX
