My Dearly Beloved Wife,
I attempt to write again to bridge the silence of what seems months not days. I know it isn't enough to love with every beat of your heart - one must express it - tell it as convincingly as you feel it. That's an old secret isn't it Nance? I try to see it that way but during the past three days I censored my three letters to you & tore them up. Truth to tell I've been really busy and the day's worries have left me unromantic & liverish & my letters sure refected [reflected] it.

Moves come so frequent these days I feel like a gypsy & now I'm obliged to be part of Headquarters & no longer can pick & choose camp sites.
