27/1778--19 February 1827 Commandts. Office Moreton Bay 9th February 1827 Sir In reply to your letter of the 8th of January last, I have the honor to state, that on reference to the settlement order Book it appears, Mr Dulhunty was appointed to take charge of the Engineer Department on the 15th day of August 1825, and was relieved from that duty on the 21st. day of March 1826_ I have also the honor to report that Mr Spicer embarked on the Amity to take charge as Superintendant of Convicts on the 30th of August last In complyance with the request of His Excellency the Governor I shall take every opportunity of pursuing the Discoveries reported in my letter of 28th August last and endeavour to ascertain as accurately as possible every particular connected with Moreton Bay and the adjacent country

Alexander McLeay Esquire Colonial Secretary & & [left side of page] is Mr Dulhunty to be paid accordingly? Certainly ________________________ auditor Mr. Dulhunty 12 March 1827 ______________________ [Mr Lillford] 22 March 1827.

I have much pleasure in reporting the very friendly terms we continue to preserve with the natives, who begin to make themselves useful in apprehending And bringing in runaways, I beg leave to request that a supply of Blankets and Tomahawks may be sent for them [approved] They value these articles very highly A temperory shed for the purpose of Public Worship will be immediately constructed, and I have the honor to state that at my request Mr Cowper has invariably read the Funeral Service at the Internments which have taken place since my arrival at the settlement I beg leave to enclose a copy of the Manifest of the cargo arrived by the Alligator accompanied by a letter from Mr Spicer by which it appears that the Goods Consigned [order been to him were not his property and have not [hereforin] for been received _ the two Bags of Sugar consigned this man's to Mr Cowper also have not been received by discretion] him I have the honor to be Sir your most obedient Servant P. Logan Commdt.

I hope the [Requisition] for the [account's] of [Victuals] the same as was sent to P.Mc.Q. , has been forwarded to Moreton Bay - RD. 24th
