Medical Department Sydney 14th. Novr. 1835

Sir I have the honor to transmit a Copy of a letter from the Assistant Surgeon at Moreton Bay soliciting the usual Forage Allowance for a Horse, and permission to embark a Horse at Sydney for his uses, which I request His Excellency the Governor will be pleased to sanction as it is understood, the Female Convicts on that Settlement are to be stationed at Eagle Farm a distance from Brisbane Town, and I conceive a Horse is necessary to enable Mr. Robertson so perform his various duties I have the honor to be Sir Your most Obedient Servant J. Bowman

[marginalia] This is an new charge which can not be authorized without better evidence of the necessity. Why wd the Females be removed to Eagle Farm for the first time now? Where there is no Prison as I believe. Col.Secy will refer to the case & present reasons if necessary. RB Nov 17.
