Last night about half past 10 OClock Constable Conroy called on me and reported to me that the Blacks had killed one of Mr Petries Bullocks Within the Town I told him Constable Conroy to call the other Constabtes immediately and go there and see what was the matter a short time after wards he returned and asked me if he might call on Lieutenant Cameron and ask him for assistance I told him he might but first call on Doctor Ballow and inform hin he then left me and I heard no of him till the following morning I had just gone to Bed when the Constable first called wearied after a several days duty together with the circumstance of my being in a delicate state of health for some
