49/4699 - 22 May 1849 John Read * Genery [several words overwritten] Inquiry respecting Robert Genery
Suffolk, England 16. Decr 1848.
Sir, About eight years since a young man named Robert *Genery left this place for Australia but no part of his family can say for what part of the Country - he went out I believe as a private emigrant & at his own Expense, since which nothing has been heard of him.
His Mother died here lately, upon whose death Robert Genery becomes entitled to some Copy[?] property here to which he must now take possession or the Lord of the Manor will seize as for want of a tenant. I shall be greatly obliged if you can give me any information respecting him, or inform me the best course I can adopt to
