Commissariat Brisbane 18 August 1849 No. 35

Sir "I have the honor to bring under your notice the dilapidated Condition the Windmill in my charge at this station, which is situated on a Hill about a quarter of a Mile from the Township, unprotected from Persons who are disposed to steal therefrom. I am informed by some of the oldest Inhabitants of this place, that the Mill has never been of much Service, on account of the position it occupies being too much protected from the Winds [1 Oct?]

as the Buiding in question is daily depreciating in value and unfit for Public Service, I feel it my duty rspectfully to suggust, that the Materials be sold without delay"
