Instructions would Put me to
a great deal of exspence [sic] and in-
convenience and deprive me out of
another month of my contract
for the Gold Gaurd [sic] forage ... I hope
Honorable Sir you will have
the Kindness to Regulate in Some
way without delay for in all
Probillity [sic] forage will be Geting [sic]
dearer every day and I cannot
attempt to Procure any more un-
till [sic] I have a final Answer ... I have
sent hay to the Gold Gaurd [sic] Stables for
to commence my contract and Got
Receipt for [added above] (it) on or about the 28th March last
thinking it would be Required for April
but the troopers Were asked not to use it
and the contractor that Capt Batty [sic] has
apointed [sic] to Supply the forage came to
me thus to Purchase the Same hay to
Supply the horses with
