Diary of the Employment With Expeditionary forces

Aug 23rd. Was Medically Examined by Dr Sutton P.M.O. and was granted a Days half leave. Went to Southport and Saw my old Head Master (Rev. H.H. Dixon) & Said Good-bye to the School.

Aug 24th. Came back from Southport and started on the Round to Say good-byes to Relations Etc. At night went to Capt Hyde's place and Received Hints in regard to Active Service. Said good-bye to Girlie and the others. Dezzy was away from Home.

Aug 25th At Victoria Barracks. Swearing men in.

Aug 26th. At Victoria Barracks. Swearing in. Went along to Lewis's for a while after tea and was up late dealing with Photos.

Aug 27th. At Victoria Barracks.

Swearing in, and have received orders that I am to go to Adelaide at a Days notice and to have a command in the Amunition Column. Jack Radcliffe came to see me at night.

Aug 28th. In Victoria Barracks All. Day. Along at Lewis's at night said goodbye to Albert he has gone to Wondai to start a Business of his own.

Aug 29th. In Victoria Barracks during morning. Went out to Mable Woolfrey's during afternoon Freds for tea, and Victoria Bks. again at night. Received Valice from Paul & Gray.

Aug 30th. Whent out to Law's During morning. Victoria Barracks during afternoon and Burrells for tea.
