List of Tools Stolen from Kinnear Park Nov. 1892 1 spirit level 1 hand ax 1 steel bar 1 plumb [Four items above marked] belonging to J.W. Boyce 1 short handled spade 1 garden rake 1 garden hook 1 lawn mower wrench 1 scythe wrench 1 scythe stone 1 oil can 1 pair pincers 1 hammer 8 hose clamps 1 water pail & dipper 1 can with about 1/2 gal. oil 2 cans of umbre 1 wheelbarrow stolen about October 20th All tools belonging to the park are branded Dept. P. Parks

Supt. Report for November 1892.

Department Public Parks. To THE Honorable The Board of Park Commissioners. Conformably with your last month's instructions the surveys were discontinued and all extraneous works were curtailed in order to keep the expenses of the Department within the limits of the funds to the credit of the department.

The work performed has been planting upon Kinnear Parkof the loadsof plants not yet itemised . The Toadstool Rustic Seat completed ,new flower-beds being prepared and sod borders being put on the upper walk The bluff paths were considerably damaged by the laxt storms repairs are deferre d until the earth is in better condition on this steep bluff. The topographical survery of this Park is being made preparatory to the making of a complete plan for its continued improvement. The tool-house of this Park was broken into and robbed of the tools a list of which is herewith submitted . The tools are all branded or marked Dept. P.Parks. The Nursery Reports 1500 cuttings made and placed 21/2 pounds seeds of Aceracrophyll Planted 1 1/2 " seeds traxinus Oregonium planted 12 " " nuts Juglans Regia Tenere 20 " nuts Cartanea Americana 1 box seeds Geniata Horida 1 " Emomymus Europanus 4 " Viola Triculor

beside, sundry plants for stock establishedin the Green House and the general care of nursery stock and Green house attendance. Notification was received that the trees ,shrubs and plant from [Narbier?] bros.and Sons successors to Transon Bros. Orleans France, have been shipped from New York. The balance due [du?] first that is as follows

The balance due on first cost is as follows Total cost of 60,000 plants 406.66 Freight and charges Duty etc. 141.92 Total $548.58 Paid by Draft sent with order 213.75 _________ 334.83 There are ten cases Estimated Weight 4000 lbs. cost of freight 2.95 per 100 $118.00 Bill of lading not yet received but to meet freight bill when goods arrive cost must be anticipated, in order to entail no delay in obtaining the goods and quickly opening the cases to keep them from damage by heating to which such goods are subject .

CITY PARK.

The City park clearing required allthe work of one team and one man to remove surface rocks plough, cultivate and harrow out roots from the cleared areas The fence is being constructed More team work is needful to put the ground into suitable conditions to be used as Nursery ground. The Draughting Dep artments was and is employeed projected the attenua Park along Lake Washington Shore .The making of sectional studies of roads and driveways which are to form a part of your annual Report This Report together with lists of tools and properties on hand Nursery Stock work done estimates for 1893.suggestions etc. Capt. J.M.Colman of steam launch Winifred on Lake Washington Yesler street Wharf informs the Department that he hereby extends a cordial invitation to the Honorable Board of Park Commissioners The Park and Boulvard Citizens' Committee His Honor the Mayor and the honorable the City Council to set an early day for a trip around Lake Washington to visit the Park Sites Respectfullysubmitted E.O.Schwagerl
