To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen At a regular meeting of Fire Company No 4 held January 8th 1885 in North Seattle We the officers of said Company were instructed to represent to your honorable body that we are and have been since May 5 1884 a regular Organized Company and have been so recognized by the City Council as such as the Fire Department That we have never been furnished with any Fire Apparatus whatever. The property interests in Buildings both Public and Private in this part of the City are of such characted as to demand protection. We therefore petition your honorable Body to furnish us a Fire Engine with appurtenances at an early date W G Sahmet president Thos H Stagg foreman G A Hill 1st Asst Foreman Charles Baker Sec
