Seattle W T June 2 1885 To the Hon The Mayor and Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen The Secretary of the Board of Delegates of the Seattle Fire Department has been directed to transmit to your honorable body The Following recommendations of the Board in relation to matters referred to the Board by his Honor the Mayor in his communications of May 9 1885 and acted upon by the board on June 1 1885 First Resolved that the Board recommend as follows 1. That Engine No 2 remain where it is 2. That an engine be purchased for use in North Seattle by Engine Company No 4 and that until such engine be supplied one of the new hose carts and apparatus by turned over to Engine Company No 4 3. That seven fire plugs be put in at Belltown 4. That five fire plugs be put in at Lake Union.

Second, the Board recommend that the following bills be paid by the City N S Snyder $4.00 Robert Calligan $4.00 W G Latimer, M M Holmes $4.00 George H Preston $4.00 Charles Lund $4.00 The bills against the Hook & Ladder Company were referred to the Finance Committee with power to report directly to the Council at the earliest opportunity Thisr, The Board recommend that the secretary of the Board be allowed a salary of $100.00 per year from the City and that said salary rate from January 1, 1885 The bills approved by the Board are herewith enclosed and marked recommended for payment all of which is respectfully submitted George H Preston Secretary Board of Delegates
