Gentlemen:-

We the undersigned, house-owners,
land owners and tax-payers desire to
present the following request:-

Whereas the actual geographical
center, and hence the true "hub" of this city,
is without any fire-protection whatever,
and whereas, that locality of the city is
rapidly building up with handsome residences
and business blocks, we ask that the City
purchase the angle lot on the south side of
Madison Street, and known on the maps
as part of Block 6 (six) in Nagel's addition,
as a city lot upon which, as soon as possible,
to erect a firemen's building, and place
a chemical engine therein.
