Committee on Fire & Water would recommend that the appointments submitted by the Chief of the Fire Department in the within communication be approved and confirmed. The rest of the recommendations have already been acted upon.

Seattle, Washington, July 11th 1890.

Hon Mayor + City Council

At request of your Chairman on Fire + Water I have attended to the matter of lighting the Engine House and enclose bids from the Seattle Gas Co + from the Pacific Electric Light Co. I am informed by the [supt?] of the Seattle Electric Light Co that at this time they can only light the Main St House. This they can do immediately. The Seattle Electric Light Co charge $1.50 one dollar fifty cents pr light 15% off and a charge of the sales for each light for [wiring?] and insulation. The bids for the gas + other Electric Light Co pls find enclosed.

I also submit for your approval the following names to complete the organization of Engine Co No 4 and for the company to be located at the Main Street Station and the truck company at the Battery Street Station. This number

Will put in service all the apparatus now available. When repairs to Engine No 2 are completed a Co will have to be formed for that engine which cannot be done until Pine St Staton is completed and Engine 2 ready for service.

Seattle, Washington, 7/11/90.

To the Hon. Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle,

Gentlemen:-

The undersigned, Pacific Electric Light Company, hereby agrees to furnish electric lights for use in the different houses of the Fire Department at the following rates:

16 candle power lights $ 1.50 per month for each lamp, less

20% for 50 or more lamps, and 15% for less than 50 lamps.

Also to install the same for $1.50 per lamp.

The following houses are within reach of the lines of this Company, Main & Ninth, Columbia & Seventh, Third & Pine and Battery & Fourth.
