Seattle, September 19th, 1893.

To the Hon. Board of Public Works, of the City of Seattle, Wash.

Gentlemen:

Your petitioners, residents and property owners at Fremont and Edgewater, hereby petition your Honorable Body to order the ten arc lights that are to be erected in Fremont and Edgewater to be placed on the top of poles. The section to be lighted from these lamps has but few buildings and all of them are low; if the lights can be placed high a much larger territory would be illuminated, and many streets would receive the benefit from such lights that would not if they were suspended across the intersection of the streets.
